USNS Concord (T-AFS 5)

USNS CONCORD is the fifth ship in the MARS - class of Combat Stores Ships and was the first ship in her class to be transferred to Military Sealift Command on Oct. 15, 1992.

In June 2001, the USNS SPICA and USNS CONCORD swapped coasts. Since then, SPICA is an Atlantic asset and CONCORD a Pacific.

USS SYLVANIA (AFS 2) and USS CONCORD are slightly damaged in a collision in Rota, Spain, when the SYLVANIA attempts under pilot to moor alongside the CONCORD.
April 25, 1978Palma de Majorca, Spain
USS CONCORD is badly damaged by a fire in its main cargo spaces while moored at Palma de Majorca, Spain. 105 people are treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns.
