USNS Mispillion (T-AO 105)

USNS MISPILLION was the first of five former MARAD standard type T3-S2-A3 oilers which received a "jumboization" conversion in the mid-1960s. Commissioned in 1945, the MISPILLION was the first ship in the Navy named after the river in Delaware. Transfered to the Military Sealift Command in 1975, the MISPILLION was eventually decommissioned in 1991. Since then, the MISPILLION is laid-up in Benecia, Calif., as part of the Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet awaiting final disposal.

Accidents aboard USS / USNS MISPILLION:

Date	Where	Events
January 10, 1982	Indian Ocean	During routine fuel transfer, the USNS MISPILLION and the Navy-contracted tanker TEXAS TRADER collide causing minor damage to both ships. No injuries are reported.
