USNS JOSHUA HUMPHREYS is the second ship in the HENRY J. KAISER - class of fleet oilers specially built for the Military Sealift Command (MSC). After commissioning, JOSHUA HUMPHREYS served under the command of the MSC until she was decommissioned on June 29, 1996. JOSHUA HUMPHREYS was part of the Atlantic Fleet and was the second ship in her class to be decommissioned. The oiler was subsequently berthed at the Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility (NISMF), Philadelphia, PA., until she was reactivated on February 23, 2005. The oiler was deactivated again on October 1, 2006, and is now laid-up at the Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility (NISMF), Philadelphia, PA.
