USS MANITOWOC was the second ship in the NEWPORT - class of Tank Landing Ships. After more than 23 years of service, USS MANITOWOC was decommissioned in 1993 and sold to Taiwan about 4 years later where the ship was renamed CHUNGHO.

USS MANITOWOC was last homeported in Little Creek, Va.
