USS SAGINAW was the tenth NEWPORT - class Tank Landing Ship. Decommissioned on June 28, 1994, and stricken from the Navy list the same day, SAGINAW was given to the Australian Navy on August 24, 1994. There, she was recommissioned as KANIMBLA.
