USS Champion (MCM 4)

USS CHAMPION is the fourth ship in the AVENGER class of Mine Countermeasures Ships. USS CHAMPION was planned by the Puget Sound NSY, Bremerton, Wash, and on December 23, 1983, Marinette Marine, Wisconsin was awarded a contract to build the CHAMPION. The ship was delivered to the Navy on January 7, 1991.
Since September 30, 1996, the USS CHAMPION is an active part of the Naval Reserve Force.
