USS Shark (SSN 591)

Named after the fish, the USS SHARK was the fifth SKIPJACK - class nuclear-powered attack submarine and the seventh ship in the Navy to bear the name. Decommissioned on September 15, 1990, the SHARK entered the Navy’s Nuclear Powered Ship and Submarine Recycling Program at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Wash., on October 1, 1995. Recycling was completed on June 28, 1996.
