One of the STURGEON - class nuclear-powered attack submarines, the USS BATFISH was the second ship in the Navy to bear the name. Both decommissioned and stricken from the Navy list on March 17, 1999, the BATFISH was subsequently disposed of by submarine recycling at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Wa. Recycling was finished on November 22, 2002.
