The first ship to be named after the city in Arizona and after the Indian tribe, the USS NOGALES was one of the NATICK - class large harbor tugs. Assigned to the US Pacific Fleet, the NOGALES was stricken from the Navy list on March 13, 2001. The tug was sunk as a target on April 26, 2003.
