One of the NATICK - class large harbor tugs, the POUGHKEEPSIE was the second ship in the Navy to be named after the city 65 miles north of New York City. Serving in the Francisco Bay Area for most of her career, the tug was transfered to Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Hi., in the mid-1990s. POUGHKEEPSIE was stricken from the Navy list on April 26, 2006.
